Does anyone reading this website have experience Assisted Living North Carolina
they could share?
QUESTION: My mother has decided she would like to relocate to a more watchful
environment. She and my father had already left the family home, disbursed the
furniture, etc. and moved to a condo. Dad died a few years ago, and Mom now
feels too isolated. She must now choose between Connecticut and North Carolina (the two daughters). I am beginning a search of the Assisted Living facilities
in my area of North Carolina and would appreciate any information or tips
anyone could offer. It is agreed that though Mom, at 83 is mentally sharp and
pretty strong physically, needs dietary and occasional medical assistance. We
are hoping to find a place in which she will be monitored, but will also allow
her the freedom to drive and shop and persue interests outside the facility.
Does anyone reading this website have experience they could share? Thanks.
ANSWER: You might try the presbyterian home in High Point, NC. They are preparing to move to a new location and at the moment may be
discombobulated enough to have an available apartment. they offer
everything from do-it-yourself to the last march. There are other Presbyterian establishments,as they were in the field
rather early, but High Point could steer you to those. In Ct, Heritage Village in Southbury now offers a wide range of
services, having begun as a retirement village solely.
