Have been trying to keep up with Assisted Living Phoenix?
QUESTION: Checking in from hot (very hot) Phoenix where it's supposed to be 113 today.
Have been trying to keep up with the group as I can all summer. My 84 year old
mother has been here most of the summer and among other things, took a spill on
my ceramic tile floor and gave herself a whopping concusion about a month ago.
Scared the hell out of me and we got to know the Mayo Clinic ER up close and
personal for one entire night.
The good and probably bad part of all of this is that she is back in TX at
least temporarily. She is getting to the point where even she realizes that
she can no longer life alone, even in her apartment at an assisted living
facility. She has something going on with her gut and as soon as we find out
what that is and deal with it, she's going to move over here and live with us.
The only other alternative is a nursing home and she isn't ready for that and
as long as I can keep her at home, with help, then I will do that. I am applying for inclusion in a research project for finger joint replacement
with Mayo Clinic and tentatively will have the left hand CMC arthroplasty the
end of October. I'm physically exhausted and somewhat stressed out but
otherwise ok. I'll try to do better about keeping up with the group.
ANSWER: I don't know how you do it in that heat. I am melting and it is
only 100 right now. Sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she can get back to live with you
quickly.
Remind us when it gets closer to your surgery on your hand. We want to be
praying for good results for you.
Have missed you being here.
