Have you got ideas about Assisted Living Portland
QUESTION: Have been away from the website but lurking somewhat.
Wanted to put in a plug for the Portland, Oregon (USA)
accordion club. I was up there to visit relatives and
friends from my home in San Francisco area. While in the
area I decided to play for the club as club member Peter
Kowsun has been wanting me to play again since my last
performance about 3 years ago. Ended up playing about 1 1/2
hours for them...amazing that they could stand that much of
me . I played my Colombo/Iorio/Piermaria double tone
chamber MIDI II+. While in the area I also gave a concert
at the local senior assisted living center that my mother-
in-law lives in. Again...played for about 1 1/2 hour. I enjoyed playing for everyone and evidently my mixture of
old and new, classics and theatre/movie music found
appreciative audiences. While in Portland I was pleased to run into Chuck Berger
who is now back living in Portland area. Had a nice dinner
with him and it was great to hear him playing his fantastic
big band arrangements on his MIDI accordion at a gig there.
ANSWER: The Portland Accordion Club is one of my favorite accordion places in the
area. They're all very nice people and they really appreciate good
accordion playing. Glad you were able to drop in and play for the folks
down in Oregon!
