QUESTION: Yes they did,However, I have reason to believe my mother felt that
was a way to bring harmony among the brothers; she wanted joint POA with the
next in line and I refused. I have heard through the grapevine she is under
the impression they are all chipping in to pay the cost of her assisted
living or will when the time comes. I am almost certain they have not made
that pledge. If they have, I want it in writing. My POA was designed to
protect my Mom from this very thing. I need to understand as much of what is possible before I begin this fight.
ANSWER: It is my understanding that a POA is as flexible as a Will. Here today
and gone tomorrow....all one has to do is execute a new one stating all
previous POA or Wills are revoked. You may get some helpful ideas here,
but only an attorney can tell you for sure what the law is in your
locality.
