QUESTION: LAGUNA BEACH, Calif., Oct 31, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Board of Directors
of Senior Care Industries, Inc. (OTC BB: SENR)(FRANKFURT EXCHANGE SJ5)
announced today that they signed a binding letter of intent to purchase 80%
of the outstanding stock in MicroDenteX, licensee of an exclusive DNA
periodontal testing procedure. MicroDenteX holds an exclusive license for the use of DNA testing for
periodontal disease by nucleic acid hybridization. This new test allows
dentists to be proactive rather than reactive by being able to apply
preventive treatment well in advance of any visible onset. The test is a
genetic test that alerts the dentist to possible peiodontal problems by
genetic selection. According to company data, the test is simple,
inexpensive to administer and when administered on a regular basis prevents
the breakdown of tissue resulting in tooth loss. Senior Care believes the MicroDenteX technology will be of particular
interest and value to senior citizens as a cheap and efficient diagnostic
tool for the ongoing maintenance of a healthy long life. The acquisition MicroDenteX points out in their literature that there is a considerable need
for diagnostic tools to allow a dentist to quickly and effectively detect
the presence of periodontal diseases and conditions to aid and administer
treatment. Among the spokesmen for MicroDenteX are Dr. J. Craig Cohen, Ph.D., one of
the country's leading scientists in Molecular Genetics, and Dr. Kirk W.
Noraian, DDS former clinical assistant professor of the division of
periodontics at Northwestern University Dental School in Chicgo, Illinois.
Dr. Cohen is a director and DNA consultant to the company and Dr. Noraian is
a director and national consultant. Dr. Noraian has developed a series of
lectures for utilization in continuing education programs for dentists to
familiarize them with the DMDx process that was first introduced at the
University of Texas in April of 1999 and at the University of Illinois at
Bloomington in September of that year. Both Dr. Cohen and Dr. Noraian have been invited to join the Senior Care
Advisory board. Since November of 1998, MicroDenteX has held the exclusive right to
distribute the DMDx process in all areas of the world other than certain
specified nations in Western Europe. Bio Vitamin AG of Bern, Switzerland has
the exclusive right to the European countries not included in the
MicroDenteX license. The process is patented and trademarks for DMDx are
registered. Additionally, the Food and Drug Administration has determined in
writing that the DMDx process is not a product that requires compliance with
food and drug regulations and does not require pre-market approval. Senior Care is dedicated to supporting all aspects of the senior
marketplace. Currently, the Company is divided into three divisions. The
housing division specializes in the development, construction and management
of age-restricted senior housing, assisted living communities and commercial
properties. The manufacturing division includes Noble Furniture and the
pharmaceutical division will soon include web based health products
distributors as a feeder to manufacture and sell Senior Care's
pharmaceutical products through an "E Commerce" pharmacy. There are plans to
vertically integrate the company so Senior Care will be able to not only
furnish its facilities from Noble Furniture but also to feed and provide
medication for seniors living in Senior Care developments. This press release contains forward-looking statements, including statements
